Organisational Reviews

Sometimes concerns arise, not because of the behaviour of any particular individual, but because processes, systems or cultures might not be working as well as they could. Left unaddressed, these issues can often resurface with serious ramifications. In these situations, it can be valuable to have an independent expert help you understand what happened, why it happened, and what to do next.

When to consider an organisational review

Clients engage me when they need an independent review that goes beyond the surface, provides reliable findings and enhances trust and confidence.

Analysing how your organisation responded to a serious event and what can be improved next time.

Re-examining a closed investigation to assess whether the response was thorough, fair, and aligned with best practice

Assessing how your board or senior leaders handled a sensitive situation

Understanding cultural dynamics that may affect safety, wellbeing, trust and confidence

Identifying systemic risks, patterns and areas for improvement before complaints or allegations arise

Assessing how safe and inclusive your environment is for different people and communities

My approach

My experience across investigations, intelligence, risk management and leadership enables me to conduct thorough, fair, investigative reviews. My straightforward approach avoids blame, ignores the politics, and focusses on uncovering the facts, identifying root causes, and providing clear findings and recommendations.

I conduct in-depth interviews to understand context, uncover root causes and motivations, and to ensure all voices are heard. I gather, analyse and test all available evidence before making findings and recommendations. My findings are reported in plain language with clear evidential links and recommendations tailored to your organisation.

Why independence matters

Internal reviews often struggle with perceptions of bias or conflicts of interest. The reality is, it is very easy to develop a bias in these situations. In fact, it’s almost unavoidable. By engaging an independent reviewer, you:

  • Build trust among staff, stakeholders and those in your care
  • Protect your reputation
  • Gain honest insights that an internal review might miss
